Program Overview

Acting Camp I (ages 8-12): The True Stories of the So-Called Big Bad Wolves

Acting Camp II (ages 13-18): The Actor Games

Camp: August 1 – 12
Mondays – Fridays, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Performance: Sunday, August 14

Immerse yourself in a hilarious ensemble production! First, 8-12 year olds will debunk the myth of those poor old wolves that always get such a bad rap in fairytales. Next, 13 – 18 year olds enter the Actor Games in a spoof of The Hunger Games where each district competes with a different type of theatre, from Greek tragedy to melodrama.

The Broadway Center manages iconic downtown theatres and performing arts spaces, including the Pantages, Rialto and Theatre On the Square. Known for its public shows, the Broadway Center also maintains a deep commitment to education through classes, student productions, matinees and other educational programs. For 9 years the Broadway Center Conservatory has offered children and youth the opportunity to excel in drama and musical theatre, receive mentoring from teaching artists and build meaningful friendships - all while learning in professional working theatres. Each summer, the Conservatory offers a Creative Drama camp for young children and several options for students ages 8 - 18: a Musical Theatre Camp during July and Acting Camps in August. Scholarships are available; no family has ever been turned away!
