Free Community Resources

Tacoma is full of dozens of free community resources and activities:

  • Let’s Hear It for Libraries!
Tacoma Public Libraries and Pierce County Libraries offer both summer learning programs and a great (free!) space to read and learn! These two library systems also both offer FREE passes (you can check them out, just like a book!) to the Museum of Glass, Tacoma Art Museum, and Washington State History Museum (TPS Passes, PCL Passes).

  • Play to Learn!
While you’re at it, roll your sleeves up for serious play at The Children’s Museum of Tacoma ! It’s a pay-as-you-will museum, meaning that if you can’t afford to pay, you and your children are still welcome to enjoy the museum!

  • Museums and Art Abound!
Don’t forget Tacoma’s Third Thursday Art Walk! Every third Thursday of the month, take your family on a downtown stroll to visit several local museums and art galleries at no cost!
